CannaWorld Ventures is a Canadian owned and operated company that focusses on providing full-service solutions tailored to the needs of Canadian craft-growers by developing specialist agricultural parks – “CannaParks”.

The CannaWorld Ventures team is made up of Industry and Business Professionals who are well known and established in their field. By working collaboratively, we provide targeted on-demand, cost-effective support from seed to sale, creating environments that enable craft growers to achieve their own personal business vision while ensuring a quality regulatory compliant and profitable Cannabis product.

BOARD OF DIRECTORS

We’d like to take this opportunity to introduce you to CannaWorld’s Board of Directors, who are also all founders:

Leo Chamberland

Mr. Chamberland is a successful entrepreneur with over 40 years of experience in finance, negotiation, strategic business development and operations, with both public and private companies.  Mr. Chamberland is a sought-after advisor in M&A, corporate structuring and restructuring, and corporate finance, where he has worked with both public and private companies.  

Mr. Chamberland previously led a venture capital group and a financial services company.  Over the past three-years, Mr. Chamberland has been responsible for moving the CannaWorld project forward and devotes the majority of his time to CannaWorld as we continue to develop the company.  Mr. Chamberland’s reputation as a strong leader with the right mix of managerial, industry and functional experience makes him a key member of the Board and management of CannaWorld.

Sophie Mas

Ms. Mas is the founder and CEO of Somas Consulting Inc., with over 20 years’ experience working in the regulatory and compliance sector in Canada. Ms. Mas was formerly [a/the] Director of the British Columbia Cannabis Legalization and Regulation Secretariat, which led the development of the regulatory framework for cannabis in British Columbia. In this capacity, she worked closely with Health Canada and other provinces to develop regulations and policies. Sophie is an active proponent of the cannabis industry, a founding member, and former Director of the BC Craft Farmers Coop and on the Board of Directors of an international cannabis food-tech company.

Ms. Mas’s proven leadership in the development of British Columbia’s cannabis regulatory landscape and her deep connections with craft cannabis growers makes her a key member of CannaWorld’s Board as we drive innovation within a highly complex and evolving regulatory landscape.

Rosy Mondin

Ms. Rosy Mondin began her career as a lawyer after receiving her Criminology degree from Simon Fraser University and Bachelor of Laws from the University of Windsor. In 2014 Rosy founded the Cannabis Trade Alliance of Canada (CTAC) and in 2013, co-founded Soma Labs Scientific. She was also Special Advisor to the Retail Cannabis Council of BC (previously CAMCD). Rosy is noted as the first female founder CEO of a publicly traded Cannabis company. In 2016 Rosy was invited to participate in roundtable consultations with the Federal Task Force on Cannabis Legalization, and in 2018 was invited to provide input to a Senate Standing Committee on the proposed Cannabis Act.

In 2018, she received the first-ever ‘Women in Weed – Trailblazer’ Award at the Canadian Cannabis Awards. In February 2024 the Government of Canada announced that Rosy was selected as a member of the Government’s nine-member Forum to provide advice to the government on the next steps for the industry.  Ms. Mondin’s knowledge of the cannabis industry, including commercial negotiations, business connections and corporate leadership make her a key member of CannaWorld’s Board and management.

 

Larry Anderson

Mr. Anderson is a developer, Realtor and the owner of Sutton Premier Realty with over 30 years of real estate experience.  Mr. Anderson has completed a wide range of projects in the Fraser Valley, which include award-winning multi-purpose developments, industrial parks, and residential projects.  Additionally, he has ran marketing programs for many different product types, including townhomes, carriage homes and single-family homes.

Larry is the Past President of the Fraser Valley Real Estate Board (FVREB) and currently serving as Director.  Larry has sat on the FVREB for the last nine years, some years serving as the Chair of FVREB’s Brokers Council.  Mr. Anderson’s extensive real estate experience in the Fraser Valley makes him a key member of CannaWorld’s Board, with the experience and connections required to develop our Pitt Meadow’s CannaPark.
